Education
Brian attended many elementary schools as a child. He does not remember anything about elementary school except for the names of the schools.
- K-2nd: Melrose Avenue Elemetary School
- 3rd-5th: Pilgrim School
- 6th: First Lutheran School of Los Angeles
Brian attended Harvard High, an all-boys school from 7th through 12th grade. In 9th grade, Brian met Hoon Park who has been a lifelong friend, and Bradley Peterson, who is now Brian's brother-in-law, after he married his sister Christy. As a 120 lb sophomore, Brian was the 4th string tailback on the JV football team. His nickname was Charlie Brown, although he is unsure why. On homecoming, with seconds left in the game and a substantial lead, Brian got his first carry of the season. Unfortunately, Brian was tackled at the goal line with his helmet in the endzone, but the ball on the 1 yard line. As a side note, Brian dislocated his shoulder while playing tackle football in high school with friends.
After high school, Brian attended Wesleyan University. Although naturally stronger at Math, Brian chose to be an English major to challenge himself and force him to read more books. Brian played on the varsity golf team in his senior year. He was a 20 handicap at the time, but he had a car and was willing to drive players to practice in exchange for a spot on the team.
Brian attended the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley and received an MBA.
Personal Life & Interests
Brian is married to Kara Park and has 2 daughters, Madeline and Adrienne.
Brian loves video-games. As a young child, Brian was addicted to Pac Man and Dragon's Lair. In high school, Brian was obsessed with Wizardry and fondly remembers casting Makanito on Poison Giants. Brian is currently playing Rock Band, Guitar Hero 3, Mario Kart DS, Trauma Center DS and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Brian enjoys playing poker, and in particular Texas Holdem. Brian won 1st place in a $120 buy-in event at Bay 101 Casino where first prize was $2,500.
Brian is also notorious for being a miser and has been known to purchase underwear (boxers) at the local car wash (it should be noted that Brian only washes his car once-per-year on average)[1].
Brian is a mediocre guitar player, but loves playing both electric and acoustic guitar. Brian was a member of Entertainment: People, a cover band formed by Yahoo! employees. The band played at the Yahoo! Christmas parties in 1996 and 1997 but was not invited back in 1998 due to foul language and lack of musical talent. Entertainment: People played on stage at Bimbo's 365 Club and The Fillmore. Brian is pretty sure he is the worst guitar player to have ever played on stage at The Fillmore.
Brian enjoys golf and is about an 18 handicap. He also enjoys tennis, billiards, and basketball. Brian has naturally poor balance, but is determined to overcome his poor genetics by playing Wii Fit.[2]
Brian likes the idea of reading books but has not finished a single book from cover to cover in about 3 years.
