What Is Wiki For Us
Wiki For Us is a collection of web pages about people. It's like Wikipedia, except you don't have to be famous to have your own page.
- Anybody can create a page here. You don't have to be famous or noteworthy.
- Like an encyclopedia, everything on your page is public and visible to everybody else.
- Anybody can add to your page. Create a page and tell all your friends to add stories about you.
How do I create a page
You can create your first page in less than 30 seconds. You don't even have to register!
Step 1. Click on the Create a Page link in the left navigation.
Step 2. Enter the name of the person you want to create a page for.
Step 3. Once your page is created, click on the edit links on the page and type away.
How do I format the page, add links, and add images
You edit pages using wiki text. Wiki text sounds complicated, but it is very easy. Click this link to learn how to edit pages using wiki text. We explain how to do things like:
- bold, italicize, and underline text
- add links to other pages like this link to learn more about editing pages
- created bulleted lists like this one
- add images to your page and more
What should I include in my page
Imagine opening up an encyclopedia and seeing your name on the page.
- What would you want your page to say about you?
- What are the most important events that have shaped your life?
- Who are the people that matter most to you? How did they affect you?
- Are there special awards, opportunities or stories you'd like to share?
- What would your friends say about you?
These are just a few ideas to get you going. Create your page and say whatever you want. Just remember that it's okay to brag every once in a while!
Who created Wiki For Us and Why
Wiki For Us was created by Alex Poon and Brian Park because we wanted a better way to learn about our friends.
We don't need another site to tell us that our friends like Coldplay, Pulp Fiction, and The Catcher In The Rye.
Instead, we wanted to hear about their childhoods, their acheivements, their goals, and even what their friends think of them.
We've learned a lot about ourselves and our friends by using the site and we hope you do too.
